The nearby city of Martinsville is home to one of the few remaining pre-Civil War Courthouses and there is plenty of historic architecture to explore and investigate all over this section of the state. The town of Mitchell’s opera house is also a lovely, historic building cherished by the community. The amazing historic architecture on the IU campus is worth the trip to Bloomington, as well. On a nice spring or summer day, make a day of it and stroll the campus, and enjoy the sunshine.
